ECUMENICAL BOROUGH DEANS IN THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF GREENWICH

What is a Borough Dean?

Ecumenical Borough Deans (EBDs) are appointed to represent their Christian denomination or community to the civic authorities. They are unique to London and appointed in each London Borough to witness that the churches are united in a concern for the common good of the borough and are supportive of the efforts being made by elected members to serve the local community.

One of the primary roles of Ecumenical Borough Deans is to promote co-operation and understanding among the many Christian churches in the borough. Borough Deans facilitate this by organising the Greenwich Church Leaders Forum. The forum meets six times a year and leaders of any churches are invited to attend. The forum shares information relevant to all local churches and gives the opportunity for church leaders to network with each other. Please contact Mike Leader (info@churchgreenwich.org.uk) for further details. Download further information “What is a Borough Dean”?”

In Greenwich there are currently 8 EBDs:
